Job Title: Financial Analyst - E-commerce
Key Responsibilities:
• Stock Reports & Analysis:
• Prepare and analyse detailed stock reports, including product performance, sales trends, and inventory turnover.
• Monitor stock levels and identify discrepancies in reported stock figures.
• Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports on stock valuation, aging stock, and stock movement.
• Stock Audits:
• Assist in planning and executing regular stock audits to ensure physical inventory matches financial records.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to conduct cycle counts and full inventory counts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
• Prepare and maintain audit documentation and reports for management review.
• Stock Reconciliation:
• Perform monthly stock reconciliation, comparing physical stock levels with accounting records and identifying variances.
• Ensure accurate adjustments are made for discrepancies, write-offs, and returns.
• Collaborate with the accounting and logistics teams to address discrepancies and update financial records.
• Support the reconciliation process for returns and damaged goods, ensuring proper documentation and accounting treatment.
• Appointments and Scheduling:
• Track and manage appointments related to stock deliveries, inventory management, and stock audits.
• Ensure all appointments related to stock handling are properly scheduled and tracked for accurate reporting.
• Work with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries and stock adjustments based on planned appointments.
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Maintain up-to-date financial records related to inventory and stock transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to inventory and stock.
• Provide insights into stock management strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce holding costs.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the finance, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate and efficient stock management.
• Provide support to senior management in developing strategies for optimizing inventory levels and improving stock accuracy.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, stock management, or inventory reconciliation, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and inventory management systems.
• Experience with ERP and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to analyse large sets of data and generate actionable insights.
• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in reconciling discrepancies in inventory.
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon Seller Central) and related reporting tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
