Job Description

Interior design interns may help with design projects, space planning, and client communication. They may also help with administrative tasks and sourcing materials.
Design projects

Create floor plans, elevations, and 3D models Assist with design concepts and mood boards Help with site visits to measure and observe ongoing projects Contribute to project timelines, budgets, and documentation
Space planning

Help develop space plans that optimize layout and flow. Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through it
Client communication Interact with clients and vendors, Obtain quotes for materials, Coordinate deliveries, Help source furniture and decor, and Provide regular updates and obtain approvals at key milestones.
Administrative tasks Collect and return vendor samples, Organize sample library, and Update catalog library.
Other responsibilities

Assist with installations Oversee deliveries Learn technical skills related to the industry Job shadow Work closely with designers, decorators, architects, and constructors
Skills and experience

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Coohom Experience in furniture, lighting, and textile sourcing Strong organizational skills Strong work ethic Self-motivated Team player
