This role offers a unique opportunity to understand the intricacies of the generation and distribution operations in the power system and contribute to a higher integration of renewable energy sources into the energy mix. It also provides an opportunity to deep-dive into initiatives for the seamless integration of electric vehicles and rooftop solar technologies into distribution networks.




Responsibilities


• Conduct literature reviews, and collect, analyse, and tabulate data based on project requirements.


• Report findings through write-ups/PowerPoint slides/ Excel sheets.


• Contribute to research publications by writing research papers, op-eds, etc.


• Ideate and innovate in terms of expanding knowledge and work base of the energy and power domain.




Key Learning Areas


• Gain a deep understanding of power sector planning and operations (particularly with regard to the distribution network), focussing on integrating EV-charging infrastructure and rooftop solar technologies to support the evolving energy landscape.


• Familiarise yourself with industry-standard power simulation software and hone your skill in modelling and analysing power system configurations.


• Develop foundational knowledge of planning decisions related to the distribution segment and improve your ability to assess the cost-effectiveness of various strategies.






Qualifications




BE in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering OR MS/ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering/Energy & Power Systems.




Skill Set


• Good understanding on the Indian power sector landscape is highly desirable.


• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.


• Basic knowledge of using power simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, etc. for distribution system planning.


• Good communication and collaboration abilities for effective interaction with cross- functional teams and internal stakeholders.


• Sound understanding of the economic principles governing power system planning and operations.


• Proficiency in Excel and Python programming would be an added advantage.
