Swisscontact is inviting applications from fresh
graduates for an internship position in the Building
Youth Employability through Skills (BYETS) project.
We are looking for a hardworking, innovative, and
forward-thinking Intern to support the project team
with research, capitalisation, communication, and
knowledge management activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for fresh graduates
interested in pursuing a career in the development
sector. The candidate will be offered the opportunity
to work on exciting thematic areas and foster an
understanding of the private sector and market
development approaches in the context of market
failures in a developing economy. S/he will gain
hands-on working experience program
implementation, stakeholder management and
advocacy and communication, etc.
Contract duration: 4 months (Four months from
start date)
Place of work: Dhaka, Bangladesh with
occasional field visits
Reports to: Team Leader of BYETS project
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
o Primary responsibility of the intern will be to
develop a stakeholder database for BYETS.
Regularly check the information for update.
• Identify new stakeholders and incorporate the
information in the database.
• Collect case studies from the field with support
from BYETS implementation and MRM team.
• Assist with the preparation and editing of
reports and communication materials.
• Support the team in organizing events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Key Requirements
o Strong academic track record and final
semester of bachelor's degree preferably in
business administration, economics, statistics,
or any other relevant subjects with all courses
completed except internship.
• General understanding of global development
discourse and institutions.
• Experience in spreadsheet application, cloud
storage, database management and data
visualization are highly preferred.
• Must be proficient in English and Bangla and
have the competency of using computer
applications like MS Office (Excel, Word,
Outlook, and Power) at an advanced level.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with
excellent written and verbal communications.
• Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary
team as well as acting autonomously as
appropriate.
• Must be willing to work in a team to meet tight
deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work
environment.
• Must handle and protect confidential and
sensitive information with integrity.
Schedule and compensation
o The intern is expected to work at least 40 hours
per week over a period of 4 months and will be
eligible to 6.5 days Annual Leave and 3 days of
Sick Leave, excluding weekends and public
holidays.
• The intern will be paid a monthly gross
allowance of BDT 15000.
• Expenses (accommodation, food and
transportation) will be paid if s/he is required to
travel outside Dhaka for official purpose during
the internship period.
Physical Demands
The incumbent will be required to make field visits
in-side and outside Dhaka in a short notice.
Working Conditions and Environment
This will be applicable according to the Swisscontact
Business Administration Manual.
