Job Description

To create safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces for a variety of clients, including homeowners and corporations. Their responsibilities include:

• Space planning : Assessing space requirements, determining optimal furniture placement, and maximizing function and movement within the space
• Design : Selecting decorative items, colors, lighting, and materials
• Construction supervision : Detailing and supervising the construction of interiors for commercial, industrial, retail, and residential buildings
• Documentation : Creating project budgets and maintaining up-to-date documentation of all activities
• Client presentation : Presenting design concepts and taking detailed notes to address customer requests
• Blueprint work : Being able to draw, read, and edit blueprints
• Compliance : Adhering to relevant blueprint, building code, and inspection requirements
• Job site visits : Visiting job sites to analyze space availability, design needs, and the purpose of the space

Responsibilities

• Undertake design project from concept to completion
• Define project requirements and schedule during the "brief"
• Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans
• Set costs and project fees according to budget
• Research and decide on materials and products sourcing
• Produce "sample" and "mood products"
• Supervise work progress
• Work closely with designers, decorators, architects and constructors
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices

Requirements and skills

• Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions)
• Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs
• Excellent portfolio of previous works
• Creative talent, imagination and eye for design
• Communication and presentation skills
• Project management skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
