Are you a creative and innovative Interior Designer looking for a hands-on role with a variety of exciting design projects? Home affairs is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team. This position will involve working on custom cabin designs, collaborating with clients to discuss and suggest ideas, and assisting the shop owner with a range of interior design projects.
Responsibilities:
• Cabin Design & Client Collaboration:
• Work with clients to understand their design preferences and functional needs for cabin spaces.
• Create design concepts, mood boards, and layouts tailored to each client's vision.
• Provide expert guidance and suggestions on materials, color schemes, furniture, and fixtures.
• Present design ideas and revisions to clients, ensuring they are satisfied with the proposed designs.
• Manage project timelines and ensure designs are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Support for Shop Projects:
• Assist the owner of the shop with various interior design projects, including both residential and commercial spaces.
• Help source materials and furnishings, and manage product selections.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Support the setup and execution of design concepts on the shop floor.
• Design Implementation & Follow-Through:
• Oversee the installation of design elements and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and address any issues that arise during the design process or implementation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Proven experience as an interior designer, with a portfolio showcasing cabin and residential/commercial design work.
• Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and color theory.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of materials, furniture, and finishes, with a focus on sustainability and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with cabins or rustic, nature-inspired interior styles.
• Knowledge of current trends in interior design and ability to incorporate them into unique designs.
• Familiarity with project management tools and processes.
