We are recruiting an Installation Manager for the Eastern region to manage site Installation activities from tender through to commissioning, supported by Installation Supervisors across allocated signalling projects. As the Installation Manager you will: . Lead by example and take ownership for the safe successful delivery of all installation activities on the allocated works. . Deliver the allocated project programmes to time, budget, quality and resource plan. . Effectively managing resources - people, time, plant, materials and subcontractors. . Produce and manage required site documentation. . Manage works in accordance with SSL procedures. . Effectively communicate task requirements to staff, motivating staff, including sub-contractors. . Empower all team members to achieve their plan and growth targets. . Identify and cost variations to Project team. Main Responsibilities . Deliver the installation elements of the project programme to time, quality and resource plan . Support project IDC Process. . Safety Leadership - to lead by example in project site safety . Tender planned signalling installation works as part of the overall project tendering process . Identify and propose possessions, contribute to the planning process & attend possession meetings . Compliance with the Installation Management procedure . Identify variations to Project team . Ensure installation work is to current Network Rail standards. . Liaise with the customer on the project building successful delivery relationships. . Carry out risk assessments dependent on project requirements and ensure risk assessment control measures are in place . Carry out site audits/ inspections. . Effectively communicate task requirements to staff . Ensure effective performance and development of staff . Encourage team working, motivate staff, including sub-contractors . Ensure staff have the correct tools and plant, calibrated and equipment fit for use, . Support of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements . To effectively manage resources - people, time, plant, materials, subcontractors . Produce daily allocation sheets/ WPP and TBS. . Ensure direct reports, IRSE Logbooks are complete and up to date . Complete material ordering documentation as required. . Monitor and control worked hours and unworked hours . Identify potential process improvements and make recommendations for implementation . Ensure completion of handover documentation and punch lists . Maintain IRSE logbook. Essential Requirements Education . IOSH Managing Safely . Full driving license . Knowledge of management systems . Commercial awareness Experience . Demonstrable previous experience of project delivery . In-depth knowledge of current Network Rail Installation Standards . Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements . Appreciation of design and testing . Understand the application of the project programme. . Knowledge of plant and equipment . Knowledge of WPP/ TBS Competencies & Skills . IRSE Licence:- Engineering Manager (installation) . COSS/SWL1 . Valid PTS Certificate . Communication and Presentation skills .
