Job Sub-Discipline Job Category Seniority Inspector/Expeditor Job Discipline Inspection and Expediting Job Group Procurement Mission / Scope Of Work The Inspection and expediting Engineer is in charge of expediting and inspection activities over vendors for the specialization of equipment for which he is skilled. He is responsible to ensure the technical supplies purchased for the projects are delivered on contract time and in compliance with the order and related attachments. The Different Specializations Are Static equipment (i.e. heat exchangers, pressure drums, storage tanks, filters),valves, piping, etc) Rotating equipments (i.e. pumps, solid handling machinery, other simple machinery etc ) Bulk material ( valves, piping, electrical and instrument components) He might be dedicated full time or part-time to projects according to the specific needs for follow up of supplies. Key Activities & Responsibilities To receive the PO, MR and other related documents from the Lead Engineer and to take necessary action as instructed. To arrange Pre Inspection Meeting (PIM) with vendor if indicated in the MR to discuss the approved Fabrication & Control Plan (PFC), Fabrication & NDT Procedures/ Cycle, Quality Control Plan (QCP) and other related matters. The purpose of the meeting is to verify that the vendor understands correctly and fully all the requirements of the order and to investigate/clarify any conflicts/misinterpretation as regard to the job specification and contractual obligations. To ensure that the vendor maintains the manufacturing cycle as per Bar chart/ Manufacturing schedule. To review/ approve Vendor QCP/ITP. To carryout Inspection/Testing and Expediting of items ordered in accordance with the approved Quality Control Plan and Bar chart/ Manufacturing schedule. To assist the Lead Engineer in preparing monthly Inspection/ Expediting status report. Review of job Progress versus Scheduled Progress and inform the LE if visits are to be rescheduled to achieve the Scheduled Progress To prepare and release Inspection and Expediting reports in Marian and verify vendor documents related to Inspection & Testing. To update regularly in Marian system the expected delivery date (EDD) for Piping bulk and E&I bulk items. To issue release note in Marian on completion of Inspection & Testing as per 0181-035-02 approved QAP/ QCP/ ITP. To check and review the vendor final documents (Certification dossier).
