Job Description

:

1. Pre Planning on the yard based on the In/Out movements


2. Use the internal planner system to load/offload the containers in the yard


3. Reduce the unproductive moves inside the yard and close monitoring on the average shifting per containers meets the target.


4. Reconcile physical and system inventory and to ensure there is zero difference.


5. Coordination with internal teams for arrivals and deliveries / movement of containers to and from port/CFS.


6. Coordination with shipping line, Customs and Customers to increase the service level and support the business


7. Comply with all and any instructions prescribed by Customs and Port authorities in terms of movement, storage of containers.


8. Close monitoring of the yard during the In/Out movement to/from CFS so that each container can be located / tracked/ delivered in minimum amount of time.


9. Maintain MIS reports on the yard utilization, equipment utilization, CHE Productivity, Truck TAT, Gate In / Out Time. Also proactively improve these metrics over a period of time.


10. Effectively plan yard layouts for cargo segregated by designated yard strategy /Bill of lading / Dangerous cargo / OOG and general imports, exports and empties


11. Controlling and planning the E&D Zone w.r.t advance planning, container placing with minimum shuffles and usage of ICVs


12. Create and maintain the yard setup and planning to achieve optimum handling equipment utilization.


13. Proactively decide on number of equipment required during peak / non-peak hours and manage their deployment in the right location at the yard.


14. In maintaining the above parameters safety of the personnel working inside the yard as well as cargo is of utmost importance.


Education & Relevant Experience

Education: Graduate Required Experience: 1-3 years in CFS operations & similar logistics sector activities.


Business Understanding

Understanding of Shipping and Logistics


KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of CFS Operations
• Working knowledge of local CFS system
• Knowledge on Basic Safety Rules

Skills:

• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy
• Self-motivated, creative and result orientated
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to execute operational tasks within specified time frame
• Fluency in written & verbal English/Tamil
• Adept to use technology interface like RFID / Excel Sheet to make data driven decisions quickly.
• Pro-active and continuous improvement focused approach.
