And well do it with the utmost integrity, and in an environment where everyone is seen, heard and feels like they belong.Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together.Role:This is a technical role responsible for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, automating and configuration of primarily Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows Servers supporting critical application infrastructure across multiple data centers.
Candidates should be having 7+ years experience in infrastructure domain managing server operating systems, virtualization, containers, and various automations around that.Qualifications:

• Experience managing virtual and physical servers in larger environment
• In-depth knowledge of the Linux Operating System, RHEL 8/9 preferred
• Has experience working in large Linux environments with formal change management procedures
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues across a distributed environment
• Expertise in monitoring and responding to server performance degradation and issues
• Ability to perform system administration tasks including but not limited to: software installs/configurations, troubleshooting complex issues, bringing new solutions etc.
• Exposure to automating routine activities using tools like Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python etc.
• Demonstrates initiative and teamwork to achieve the goals of the greater organization
• Basic knowledge of public cloud like AWS, GCP or Azure
• Good knowledge on container-based platform like OpenShift/Kubernetes
• Basic understanding of network like subnets, DNS, TCP/UDP, tcpdump, firewalls, LB etc.
• Good Hands on automating various infrastructure tasks using shell, ansible, puppet tasks etc.
• Good Hands on knowledge on configuration management like Puppet, Ansible etc.
• Working knowledge on various monitoring tools like Icinga, Prometheus, Grafana and related monitoring and observability tools.
• Very well versed and hands on experience with DevOps tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Duties:

• Perform server administration tasks to ensure that systems are operating as expected
• Work with application teams to configure or troubleshoot the systems
• Continually monitor the systems and resolve priority incidents to restore service
• Bringing new innovative solutions on table based on problem statements
• Routinely scan the systems to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices
• Modify configurations and systems to harden security or remediate vulnerabilities
• Assist in automating activities requiring pulling information or pushing changes across set of boxes
• Provide recommendations to reduce overhead/cost and process improvements
• Managing physical Linux Servers running clusters, SAN based storage, hardware replacements etc.
• Troubleshooting Linux Servers running Kubernetes managed workload
• Developing and managing microservices on various platforms like Python and using orchestration tools like conductor, Apache Airflow etc.
• Managing monitoring tools like Icinga, Prometheus, telegraf and other leading tools
• Developing various dashboards using Grafana and other visualization tools
• Developing playbooks in Ansible, Puppet tasks and plans
• On-Prem Infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform and Ansible
