Hybrid Working\xc3\x82

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Support DevOps initiative to move our current Barclays Payments Merchant Services applications in a delivery model that supports delivery Jenkins CI/CD, automated testing and deployment of infrastructure as code.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Support all strategic programs of the Business including but not limited to Infrastructure Creation, Maintenance and Configuration
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Create, Maintain and support Test environments to ensure high availability.\xc3\x82

What will you be doing?

\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 To create, support and maintain CI/CD pipelines by following Bank strategic processes, tools and applying industry best practices.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Automate Infrastructure Provisioning, Support and maintenance with a clear focus on the customer and user experience but minimising the cost impact to the business wherever possible.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Create Automated means to monitor platform health, security, and spend.\xc3\x82
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Ensure positive impact to Lead Time and Quality for all Release delivery through effective environment provisioning controls for the services managed by the team.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Lead, develop and collaborate a strong virtual team ethos bringing together disparate skill sets from across the business to shape change initiatives, providing clear standards, approaches and tools

\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Minimum 3+ years of working experience in Linux shell scripting, SQL.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Minimum 3+ years\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99 experience supporting Application Infrastructure that has various components and its automation.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Minimum 3+ years\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99 experience CI/CD pipeline creation and delivery
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Minimum 2+ years\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99 experience in CHEF.

Skills that will help you in the role

\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Excellent Linux Shell Scripting, SQL and troubleshooting experience.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Chef SME who can write Cookbooks, Wrapper Cookbooks and Configure Application & Web Servers as per the requirement
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Experience with Jenkins, Git/Stash, Gradle, Maven build scripts, CI/CD pipeline creation.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Basic Programming skills \xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x93 Java, Python, etc.
\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\xa2\xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 \xc3\x82 Minimum 2+ years\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99 experience in creating & maintaining environmental sanity using Monitoring tools like Grafana.
