Department Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions' Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure to build at scale.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for:

• Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into multiple public cloud regions
• Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forward
• Overall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run in
• Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services


As a software engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor to platform development activities. Our teams are developing services, tools, and processes to support other Motorola Solutions' engineering teams as well as deliver solutions to our customers. You will be working on a high-velocity, results-oriented team that leverages cutting-edge technologies and techniques. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for automation, deployment processes and enabling innovation. Your efforts will help to shape the engineering culture and best practices across Motorola Solutions' Software Enterprise organization.

Basic Requirements
----------------------


Infrastructure Automation Engineer


Basic requirements:

• Azure cloud Engineer with up to 2 years of experience.
• Well-versed with at-least one scripting language - Shell/python/Perl
• Hands-on experience working on Azure Cloud.
• Strong understanding of Azure foundation - VNET, VM, Storage, Network & Security
• Code, Build and Release management (CICD) using GIT, Azure Dev OPS
• Linux Administration and good understanding of Linux OS and OS hardening.
• Basic understanding of docker containers and how to launch docker containers
• Knowledge of Networks topology and cloud Security.
• Should be able to work Independently and execute tasks with precision.
• Optimizing and monitoring server performance and infrastructure cost optimizations
• Automate and streamline our operations and processes for scale.
• Designing systems at scale to make sure solutions built are economical and secured.


Scripting


a) Ansible hands on experience to create playbook and debug any issues in playbook


b) Experience of bash/shell scripting to convert any requirements into code


c) Perl or Python hands on experience



Linux administration:


a) Linux Administration and Understanding of any Unix/Linux based operating system


b) Hands on experience on Linux basic administration commands



Azure:


a) Understanding of VM creation in Azure portal either manual or Azure ARM template


b) Understanding of Azure networking


c) Understanding of Azure DNS zone, Load balancer and Azure Traffic Manager profile


d) Understanding of Network Security Group


e) Knowledge of CI/CD through Azure Devops


f) Knowledge of Kubernetes/NGINX will be an added advantage


Good to have:


Networking/TLS :


a) Understanding of switching/ARP/IP routing


b) Understanding of TCP/UDP protocol


c) Understanding of SSL/TLS certificate, Certificate autoirith,certifcate public and private keys
