Job Summary

We are looking for a vibrant and astute product designer who is eager to make a real difference, has the courage to try new things, the creativity to design innovative solutions, but most important has the empathy, patience and meticulousness to understand the user deeply jumping on to the design board. Someone that is as obsessively human centered as we are. The job will consist of (a) continuously assimilating feedback from across the globe, distilling it into actionable insights and using these to continuously refine the design of our existing product line, evolving better and better versions. (b) Design multiple exciting new product lines for diverse applications in the medical immobilization space. (c) While your core responsibility will be to design awesome products, you will also need to spend time understanding of our users, patients, use-environments, and use cases, and the surrounding material and manufacturing considerations. You will work closely with the respective teams to ensure the seamless translation of your designs into internationally successful medical products over rapid timelines made possible by our rare end-to-end in-house capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• To design new versions of the existing product line based on accumulated and incoming inputs and new user research
• To conceptualize and design new products lines in the space of wearables for medical immobilization
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Create detailed design specifications, including sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and 3D models.
• Collaborate with engineers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure feasibility and manufacturability.
• Conduct and document all design processes in compliance with MDQMS
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in medical device design

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design / Product Design / related degree OR Masters degree in Industrial Design / Product Design / related field with a bachelors in product design / Mech. engg / Biomedical engg / Prosthesis and orthosis or related field
• Special interest, orientation and proficiency in the medical device domain through projects and industry experience as showcased in portfolio•

DESIRABLE

• Professional work experience of 3-5 years in a relevant field, though not essential, will be a definite advantage,
• Expert level proficiency in at least one CAD
• Strong understanding of human factors and ergonomics
• A basic orientation with medical device regulatory framework
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping methods such as 3d printing, thermoforming etc.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in medical devices.
