Indirect Senior Buyer EMEAI - HSE & Customs/ Brokerage

Main responsibilities

Prepare and implement global commodity strategy for HSE & Customs/ Brokerage categories with annual spend of 20 mil. USD. Ensure that the whole source to pay process is performed according to the company policy and commodity strategy, taking into account cost effectiveness, payment term optimization, quality and other contractual terms. Independently lead negotiations and cost improvements including sourcing project management from A to Z.


You will be in charge for specific indirect spend categories - HSE & Customs/ Brokerage, operating mostly in EMEAI region, with support from senior professionals and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for running e-auctions, negotiations and business alignment events to continually improve cost/quality ratio. One-off negotiations for non-standard buys, low dollar volume buys or items that are not strategically sourced are an integral part of your job as well.


You will be also placing or managing changes to existing purchase orders within your spend categories in Coupa and SAP. Your indirect procurement activities will cover the entire procurement process from sourcing, contract negotiation to PO placement and invoice check.


Support other functions with audits, implementation of software or new methodology.

Main requirements

• Min. Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred in technical or economic field
• Extensive knowledge of procurement/ sourcing - preferably in HSE/ Customs or other categories like Transportation/ Logistics/ Warehousing - 3PL/ Packaging/ Quality
• Hands-on experience in purchasing for at least 5 years
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strategic thinking/ common sense
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong time management skills
• Good organizational skills - ability to prioritize and do problem solving
• Project management skills
• English proficient, any other language is a plus
• Microsoft Office and SAP skills together with ability to adapt quickly to other procurement systems (Coupa)
• Self-motivated and capable to work with tight deadlines
• Problem solving skills
