INDIAN & BIRIYANI CHEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Food Preparation & Cooking:
• Prepare a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, appetizers, and breads, alongside different styles of biriyani (Hyderabadi, Kolkata, Mughlai, etc.).
• Ensure the correct use of spices, marination techniques, and cooking methods for authentic flavours and quality.
• Oversee the preparation of accompaniments like raitas, salads, and tandoori items.
2. Menu Development:
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update the menu, introducing new dishes and seasonal specials.
• Innovate and experiment with flavors, presentation styles, and cooking techniques to enhance the dining experience.
3. Quality Control & Consistency:
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency across all dishes.
• Conduct regular tastings and adjust recipes as needed to meet quality expectations.
4. Inventory & Stock Management:
• Monitor and manage stock levels of key ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Collaborate with suppliers to procure speciality ingredients for biriyanis and other Indian dishes.
5. Team Supervision & Training:
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in preparing Indian dishes and biriyanis, ensuring adherence to recipes and techniques.
• Foster a collaborative environment and support team development through coaching and mentoring.
6. Kitchen Hygiene & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Adhere to FSSAI regulations and company policies regarding food handling and preparation.
