ROLE SUMMARY

Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions. The BAI India Lead is accountable for leading a team to ensure the delivery of high quality strategic business decision support to the Pfizer Biopharma business in India.

This role serves as the primary relationship manager to the India business and will partner with Biopharma Finance, Biopharma Operations, BAI Data Science, Digital CoEs, and other functions as necessary to ensure all resources are leveraged to deliver robust solutions to business issues.

The India BAI leader will work with India Biopharma leadership to understand their strategic business priorities, frame the issues, design analytics and insights plans, ensure quality execution of those plans and delivery of actionable insights. Proper execution of this role will result in superior performance of the India Biopharma business.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Role definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set a vision and provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of a team of BAI India colleagues.
  • Lead a highly engaged and motivated team.

  • Proactively identify and encourage career opportunities that will support the professional development goals of each team member.
  • Serve as a strategic analytic advisor to Biopharma leadership in India, including the Country President, proactively engaging and partnering with India business colleagues to identify and prioritize business challenges and develop analytically-based solutions that enable informed decision-making.
  • Ensure the delivery of analytics & insights across the catalog of BAI services, including:
  • Primary market research to inform Strategy Development and guide marketing decisions
  • Secondary data analysis to ensure comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, including competitive insights, industry trends, market access dynamics, and portfolio performance
  • Promotion effectiveness & insights to guide effective use of promotional resources, including delivery of customer segmentation, promotion resource allocation analysis, FF sizing/structure analysis, omnichannel analytics, etc.
  • Forecasting to support long-range forecasting and inform resource allocation, strategies and tactics.
  • Data reporting & stewardship, including identification of new data sources in partnership with Digital.
  • Advanced analytics including predictive modeling, data science, and artificial intelligence/machine learning, working in collaboration with BAI Data Science.
  • Customer analytics & insights including development of Customer 360s, customer profiles, predictive behavioral analytics, channel and content analysis, etc.
  • Work proactively with relevant cross-functional partners (as mentioned above) as well as global BAI teams to adapt global strategies to the India market as relevant, to share knowledge and expertise and to ensure cohesive activities and quality analysis and insights.
  • Lead the definition and consistency of business metrics, striving for continuous improvement in analytic approaches across all brands and business units.
  • Drive knowledge management to identify and maximize cross-category synergies.
  • Actively seek opportunities to work with Biopharma Operations to identify solutions and services that build on analytic insights.
  • Be an active member of the Emerging Market BAI Leadership Team. Share knowledge of successful analytics and insights with EM Global and other markets.

PROFESIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills
  • Extensive knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry in India, including relevant data sources required to understand and generate insights about the market
  • Deep experience across BAI services including data analytics, primary and secondary market research, data reporting, data processing, use of AI/ML and commercial analytic tools; specific experience in Dataiku/DSS and Tableau are highly desired
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in business analytics function, country strategy and/or strategic consulting
  • Track record of thought partnership with commercial leadership to advance organizational priorities and goals
Education
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline.
Language
  • Fluency in English required.
