This is an incredibly rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood teacher or educator to guide and mentor our ground-breaking, early years Indi Kindi programs in the Northern Territory.

Moriarty Foundation is building an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children thrive. Indi Kindi is a ground-breaking Indigenous-led early years program for children under five in remote Aboriginal communities, integrating health, wellbeing, education and development to give children the best start in life.
Working collaboratively with our Indi Kindi Early Years Specialist, you will be instrumental in impacting the lives of not only the children, but through your mentorship, those of our local Indigenous staff as well.
You will be based in Moriarty Foundation's Sydney Head Office, however the role will require regular travel to support teams on the ground in the Northern Territory.
Indi Kindi is a proven early years program that has been operating since 2011 in the remote communities of Borroloola and Robinson River in the Gulf of Carpentaria, and in Tennant Creek. A recent Deloitte Access Economics (DAE) evaluation has shown that Indi Kindi is an exemplar of quality pedagogy that is positively impacting life outcomes for Indigenous children in remote communities.

The successful candidate for this exceptionally rare opportunity, will be able to talk to the following criteria.
Essential criteria:
Proven experience in developing and mentoring teams
Experience working as an early childhood teacher or educator
An understanding of the issues faced by remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Commitment to transfer skills to local in-field staff with a collaborative and inclusive approach
Proven experience with reporting and presenting documentation that captures and presents clear data and information
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt the language across different stakeholders
Competent computer skills in MS Office Word & Excel format
Current Australian driver's license
Eligibility to receive a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
Desire to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a commitment to helping create positive change among children in Indigenous communities.
Desired criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Social Work
Direct experience in working with Indigenous communities
Demonstrated experience in understanding the issues faced by remote Aboriginal communities
Experience working with children and youth

Key duties:
Indi Kindi program delivery
Support the Indi Kindi Program within the Northern Territory and surrounding communities in the Roper Gulf Region, including mentoring and supporting the local staff in the delivery of the program
Facilitate best possible outcomes on teaching and learning, enrolments, program planning, evaluation, attendance, parental and elder engagement and integrated delivery with local organisations and services
Support our community-based teams to complete all required measurement and reporting requirements including child and family attendance, enrolment forms, staff timesheets and leave applications
Work with the Indi Kindi Early Years Specialist, to implement a curriculum framework and key indicators to measure progress and outcomes across the program
Work with key stakeholders during community visits, to collect measurement data relevant to current organisation systems
Support, monitor and provide feedback on program delivery on a weekly, term and yearly basis
Report on learning outcomes, recommendations, and identifying development needs for program participants and local staff, in collaboration with manager.
Wellbeing & Nutrition
Deliver on Moriarty Foundation's Wellbeing Program in relation to 5 key areas: healthy nutrition, fitness, fun & learning, protective relationships and mental resilience
Notify and respond on matters of staff and participants welfare and code of behaviour
Support teams to deliver the nutrition component of the program, for children and families
Coordinate training opportunities together with educators, for the teams in the delivery of health & wellbeing key messages.
