Your team responsibilities

MSCI Index Data Operations team provides high quality and differentiated equity data for construction of MSCI\xe2\x80\x99s products such as Equity Indexes, Risk Models and ESG Ratings. Index Input Data (IID) team as part of the Index Data Operations team is focused on MSCI Indexes with main responsibility being to review the quality of data used in construction/rebalancing/screening/calculation of MSCI Indexes and to ensure that data standard follows the guidance defined for index usage. Since data is the backbone for indexes, the IID team initiates and/or collaborates with other teams on programs related to data quality and process improvements, including but not limited to automation, workflow streamlining projects, and building data QA models.
As an Index Input Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining input data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and quality. Your responsibilities will span various stages of data processing, from onboarding to resolution of queries (including coordinating with data vendors). You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of ESG Factors, other index input data and their impact to Indexes.

Your key responsibilities
  • End-to-End ownership of Index Input Data which includes the processing and validation of index input data including critical ESG and other relevant datapoints. Collaborate with data providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data ingestion.
  • Implement data quality check and address any discrepancies. Perform agreed level of quality assessments on index input data by detecting anomalies, identifying outliers or missing data points, and investigating discrepancies to take corrective actions.
  • Onboard new data sources, ensuring seamless integration into systems and processes. Regularly update and maintain data repositories, monitor data quality, and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - Index Management Research, ESG Research, Data & Technology, to understand the data requirement, data QC scope, data delivery and address index input data related queries.
  • Independently prepare and deliver presentations on data quality analysis to Data and Index Committees. Participate in regular reviews to enhance index input data processes aligned with index methodologies and provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with index guidelines and policies.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in ESG and other index input data to contribute to the accurate construction, maintenance, and quality assurance.
  • Proactively identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains. Suggest enhancements to data workflows, quality control procedures, and reporting mechanisms.



Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance, Economics or Mathematics (Including equivalents of CA, CFA, FRM, MMS, MBA).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant working experience (Industry type: Financial Services, Broking, Capital Market).
  • Must have: Good command over excel tools and functionality dealing with volume of data.
  • Must have: basic knowledge on technologies and programming Skill for example Python, SQL and Power BI etc.
  • Sound knowledge about equities or financial markets in general.
  • Self-driven work ethic and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Good analytical skills, strong attention to details and logical aptitude with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and dedication to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Global Team Collaboration: Experience working with diverse cultures and appreciation for cultural norms.
