Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented

InDesign Paginator

to format and lay out text and images for books, magazines, newspapers, and other print or digital publications. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in

Adobe InDesign

and a deep understanding of typography, page composition, and print production.

Responsibilities:

Format and paginate books, magazines, and other documents using

Adobe InDesign

. Ensure accurate text flow, proper alignment, and consistent formatting throughout the publication. Apply

typography and layout design

principles to enhance readability and visual appeal. Work closely with

editors, designers, and production teams

to ensure layouts meet publishing guidelines. Handle

text styling, paragraph formatting, headers, footers, and page numbering

. Ensure proper

image placement, resolution, and quality

for print and digital outputs. Prepare and export

print-ready PDFs

and digital files following industry standards. Conduct

proofreading and quality checks

to catch typographical and formatting errors. Adjust layouts to accommodate last-minute text or design changes efficiently.

Requirements:

Proven experience in

Adobe InDesign

and document pagination. Strong knowledge of

print production processes

, typography, and layout design. Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across multiple pages. Experience with

prepress preparation

, including color management and resolution settings. Ability to handle

large, multi-page documents

efficiently. Strong time management skills to meet deadlines. Basic proficiency in

Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

for image adjustments (preferred). Experience with

XML, ePub, or digital publishing formats

(a plus).

Preferred Skills:

Experience in

book, magazine, or newspaper publishing

. Understanding of

stylesheets, master pages, and automated formatting tools

in InDesign. Knowledge of

printing specifications and press requirements
