SUMMARYWe are looking for a talented and creative Freelance Illustrator to join our team on a project basis. The successful candidate will create engaging and effective illustrations that connect with our target audiences, including farmers and frontline healthcare workers.ABOUT USWadhwani AI is a nonprofit institute building and deploying applied AI solutions to solve critical issues in public health, agriculture, education, and urban development in underserved communities in the global south. We collaborate with governments, social sector organizations, academic and research institutions, and domain experts to identify real-world problems, and develop practical AI solutions to tackle these issues with the aim of making a substantial positive impact.We have over 30+ AI projects supported by leading philanthropies such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID and Google.org. With a team of over 200 professionals, our expertise encompasses AI/ML research and innovation, software engineering, domain knowledge, design and user research.In the Press:Cultures page of Wadhwani AI -ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with our team to understand project requirements and develop illustrations that align with the defined objectives.Produce 5-7 illustrations per month, tailored to the needs of the project and audience.Deliver high-quality, engaging, and visually appealing illustrations in a realistic but cartoonish style that resonates with our target demographic.Ability to create simple gifs from the illustration as wellWork efficiently under tight deadlines if needed, with the ability to deliver final illustrations within 3-7 days of assignment.REQUIREMENTSProven experience as an illustrator, with a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of styles with a focus on realistic cartoonish illustrations.Collaborate with our team to understand project requirements and develop illustrations that align with the defined objectiveExcellent drawing and conceptualization skills with an ability to adapt to various styles and themes.Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback and revisions.Ability to work independently and deliver results within stipulated timelines.Professional proficiency in illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar.We are committed to promoting diversity and the principle of equal employment opportunity for all our employees and encourage qualified candidates to apply irrespective of religion or belief, ethnic or social background, gender, gender identity, and disability.
