Job Overview: As an ICA Team Leader, you will oversee a team of instrumentation, control, and automation engineers and technicians responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems and automation solutions across various industrial sectors. Your role involves leading projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving innovation in instrumentation and control technologies. Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of instrumentation, control, and automation engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve project objectives.
Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee instrumentation, control, and automation projects from concept to completion, including system design, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, and monitor progress to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to understand project requirements, address technical challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Design and Engineering:
Develop detailed designs, specifications, and schematics for instrumentation, control, and automation systems, including process control systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
Select appropriate instrumentation, sensors, control devices, and automation technologies based on project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or other engineering design software for creating electrical and control system drawings.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide technical support and expertise to resolve complex technical issues, troubleshoot system failures, and optimize performance of instrumentation and control systems.
Conduct root cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and implement solutions to address system malfunctions, process deviations, and safety incidents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to implement system improvements and enhancements.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines governing instrumentation, control, and automation systems, such as ISA (International Society of Automation) standards and industry-specific regulations.
Prepare documentation, reports, and records to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and support regulatory audits and inspections.
Training and Development:
Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their technical skills, knowledge of industry trends, and proficiency in instrumentation and control technologies.
Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and support career development plans for team members to foster professional growth and retention
Requirements
B.Sc. ICA Engineering or Similar.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in design of ICA works in the field of water and wastewater.
Leadership skills to manage a team of engineers and BIM modelers.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Proficiency in preparing calculations and technical reports.
