Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate IBDP Physics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics to students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) , focusing on both Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) courses. The teacher will facilitate students' understanding of fundamental and advanced physics concepts and prepare them for IBDP assessments, including internal and external exams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teaching and Instruction:
• Teach IBDP Physics (HL and SL) courses, following the IBDP curriculum.
• Develop and deliver engaging and effective lessons that promote inquiry, exploration, and critical thinking in students.
• Use a variety of teaching methods, including experimental work, to develop students' understanding of key physical principles.
• Encourage students to engage with Physics at both theoretical and practical levels, fostering a deep appreciation of the subject.
• Assessment and Feedback:
• Design and conduct both formative and summative assessments aligned with IBDP requirements, including lab reports, projects, and written examinations.
• Provide constructive and timely feedback to students, helping them improve their understanding and academic performance.
• Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and offering additional support where necessary.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and well-structured classroom environment that encourages active learning.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, inquiry, and scientific curiosity among students.
• Address any behavioral or academic concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Curriculum Development and Planning:
• Plan and deliver a coherent and challenging Physics curriculum that adheres to the IBDP standards and encourages student inquiry and exploration.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department and across other disciplines to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Physics curriculum to meet the evolving needs of IBDP students.
• Student Support and Guidance:
• Provide additional support to students who need help with understanding complex Physics concepts.
• Offer individual and small-group assistance during office hours, after-school sessions, or study periods.
• Guide students in their Internal Assessments (IAs) , ensuring they follow IBDP guidelines and achieve high standards.
• Professional Development:
• Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and IBDP curriculum developments.
• Participate in IBDP workshops and training sessions to enhance subject-specific teaching skills.
• Reflect on teaching practices to continually improve teaching methods and student engagement.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Actively collaborate with fellow IBDP teachers and staff to support students and contribute to a positive and effective learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Attend school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and relevant school events as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field (essential).
• Master's degree in Physics or Education (preferred).
• Completion of IB Educator Certificate or IBDP-specific training in Physics (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience teaching Physics at the high school level, preferably within the IBDP framework.
• Familiarity with IBDP Physics assessments and teaching methodologies.
• Prior experience in teaching IB Physics HL/SL courses is highly preferred.
• Skills and Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of the IBDP Physics curriculum and assessment criteria.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students while fostering a growth mindset.
• Proficiency in using technology in the classroom and lab setting (e.g., simulations, lab equipment, digital tools).
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills.

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
