Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic IBDP Math Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) , specifically in the Mathematics Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Mathematics Applications and Interpretation (AI) courses. The teacher will foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and encourage students to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills within a global educational framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Instruction:
• Deliver high-quality instruction in Mathematics to IBDP students (Grades 11-12) in both Mathematics AA and Mathematics AI courses, based on the IBDP curriculum.
• Plan and prepare engaging lessons, ensuring that they are aligned with IBDP standards and foster inquiry-based learning.
• Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners in the classroom.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning and support students' development in both theoretical and applied mathematics.
• Assessment and Feedback:
• Design and conduct formative and summative assessments in line with IBDP assessment criteria, including Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EE) .
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on their performance, guiding them in their learning journey.
• Monitor student progress and provide individualized support, helping students set goals and overcome challenges.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and academic integrity.
• Address any behavioral or academic concerns in a proactive and professional manner.
• Curriculum Development:
• Collaborate with fellow IBDP Math teachers and the academic team to ensure consistency and coherence in the delivery of the mathematics curriculum.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Mathematics curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the IBDP program.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in mathematics education and IBDP-specific teaching strategies.
• Student Support:
• Offer additional support to students outside of class through office hours , tutoring , or study sessions .
• Prepare students for external IBDP assessments and examinations.
• Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a love for mathematics, and support them in achieving their academic potential.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in professional development opportunities, including IB training and workshops, to enhance teaching skills and remain current with IBDP updates.
• Engage in reflective practices to continually improve personal teaching techniques and strategies.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Actively contribute to the IBDP Math department and the broader school community, collaborating with colleagues to enhance student learning and share best practices.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the school leadership team regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Attend regular meetings, including department meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field (essential).
• Master's degree in Mathematics or Education (preferred).
• Completion of IB Educator Certificate in Mathematics or related IB training (preferred).
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience teaching Mathematics at the high school level, preferably in the IBDP.
• Prior experience teaching IB Mathematics courses (AA or AI) is strongly preferred.
• Skills and Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of the IBDP curriculum and assessment requirements for Mathematics.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster a growth mindset and inspire students in the study of Mathematics.
• Proficient in the use of technology in education (e.g., graphing calculators, software like GeoGebra, Microsoft Office, Google Classroom).
• Strong classroom management and teaching skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
