Job Title: IB LibrarianJob Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable IB Librarian to join our school community. The IB Librarian will play a crucial role in supporting the International Baccalaureate program by providing diverse resources, fostering information literacy, and promoting a love for reading and research among students. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in library sciences, familiarity with IB curriculum requirements, and a passion for educational excellence.Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the school library collection to support the IB curriculum, including selecting, acquiring, and cataloging materials.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into IB units of inquiry and subject-specific projects.
- Provide instruction and guidance to students and staff on research strategies, information literacy, and effective use of library resources.
- Promote a culture of reading and intellectual inquiry through library displays, book clubs, and reading programs.
- Organize and oversee the library space to ensure it is conducive to learning, including maintaining an organized and inviting environment.
- Stay current with educational trends, technology tools, and digital resources to enhance library services and support student learning.
- Assist students and teachers in accessing and utilizing digital resources, databases, and online subscriptions.
- Collaborate with the school community to organize author visits, literary events, and other library-related activities.
- Manage circulation services, including loan transactions, overdue notices, and inventory management.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional memberships related to library and information sciences.
