Summary Plant Support function is at the crossroad of technical expertise, site works including EHS, project management, with commercial awareness.
The Hydro Plant Support Engineer will lead the service activities for hydropower plants in the nominated Region. He/she is the primary liaison / point of contact between GE Hydro/Service Leadership, GE Hydro/Engineering, project management, supply chain, the site team, sale team and customers. Scope includes ensuring the completeness of the deliverable solutions of GE Hydro services.
Roles and Responsibilities
Obtain information on hydro power plant assets & setup for the designated areas such as hydro turbine & generator technologies, existing DCS, governing, excitation and other mechanical & electrical Balance of Plant systems including customer purchasing plans and Maintenance budget. Have a clear understanding of power plant outage schedule.
Actively visit customer\xe2\x80\x99s plants (> 03 plants per month/per customer at least), participate in customer meetings and connect customer needs with our products\xe2\x80\x99 available options and solutions
Deliver timely / accurate responses to customer technical inquiries including proposal and execution (for transactional opportunities) leveraging GE Hydro Sales and Commercial Operations, Engineering (Fleet reliability Operations, Installed Base Center of Excellence)
Provide hands on technical support to customers and field teams for general services and specific upgrades
Project Execution: Lead the execution (incl. site activities and project reviews with customers) with respect to EHS, time, quality, cost commitment and drive variation orders in cooperation with engineering, supply chain and site teams. Run the project financials (sales milestones and cash, risk & opportunities)
Ensure Customer Relationship
Identify supplier needs and coordinate with Service Buyers for new supplier qualification
Facilitate the configuration of control software and parameters based upon the site requirements / specific unit configurations (for control plant support)
Work on Budgetary enquiries/ Proposals
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college
Must be flexible to travel between north and northeastern part of India. Prior experience in the mentioned regions will be an advantage
Minimum of 12 years in Hydropower Electro-mechanical field services, Project Management, Sales. Experience in hydro equipment (Control/ Governing/ Excitation Systems) maintenance, installation & commissioning or manufacturing is required.
Commercial awareness, Strong knowledge and relationship with local customers at Plant level
Ability and willingness to travel more than 50% of the time.
