Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hydraulics Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems, including pumps, crawlers, and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintenance & Repairs :
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic crawlers, cylinders, motors, valves, and other components of hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system failures and issues in pumps, motors, valves, and associated equipment.
• Perform mechanical and hydraulic repairs, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and part replacement.
• Repair or replace hydraulic hoses, filters, seals, and fittings as needed.
• Hydraulic System Troubleshooting :
• Use diagnostic tools and test equipment (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, electrical testers) to troubleshoot issues and pinpoint sources of failure.
• Address issues related to pressure, flow, and temperature within hydraulic systems to ensure proper performance.
• System Testing & Calibration :
• Test hydraulic systems after repair or installation to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform pressure and load testing of hydraulic pumps, motors, and cylinders.
• Calibrate hydraulic systems and components for optimal performance and safety.
• Preventative Maintenance :
• Develop and follow scheduled preventative maintenance routines for hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Clean and inspect hydraulic components to extend the lifespan of equipment.
• Documentation & Reporting :
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on hydraulic equipment.
• Document parts replaced and any adjustments made during maintenance procedures.
• Report any system improvements, malfunctions, or safety hazards to management.
• Safety & Compliance :
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Ensure that all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to a safety-focused work environment.
• Collaboration & Support :
• Work closely with other maintenance team members and departments to ensure smooth operations of hydraulic-powered equipment.
• Assist in training junior technicians and staff on hydraulic systems and maintenance practices.
• Emergency Repairs :
• Provide emergency repair services for hydraulic systems to minimize production downtime during unplanned failures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in hydraulics, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic systems maintenance, with a focus on hydraulic pumps, crawlers, and related equipment.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, motors, and actuators.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hydraulic systems and components.
• Experience with hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with hydraulic tools and test equipment (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters).
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Capability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as needed.
