In the role as HSS Manager (Solar), we are seeking a competent, self-driven and committed individual to deliver comprehensive technical support in occupational health safety, security to the project & assets, ensuring effective control of risk, impact and follow up of management plans for full compliance with regulations to minimize the occurrence of impacts or incidents that may affect to the people, process, equipment & material. As HSS Manager (Solar) you will be reporting to the Senior Manager-HSS in India and the following tasks would be a part of your job profile:
Assist Project Director/ Manager on HSS in stakeholder activities.
Establish and lead the project's & assets HSS work process in accordance with Stakrafts Capital Project Model (CPM).
Establish activities and plans to monitor HSS activities supporting the overall HSS Program including, HSS audits, inspections, reviews, risk assessments and other HSS assessments.
Promoting an HSS culture which is consistent with Statkraft s leadership ambitions and values and defining and implementing Site Specific HSS Program and Plans.
Providing coaching and assistance to the Site team with regard to the implementation of Statkraft HSS Standards, statutory requirements, industry standards, and best practice.
Ensure HSSE compliance of contractors/sub-contractors/vendors at site, supported by the Site Management Team.
Plan and execute a program for HSS training, motivation and further competency development for site personnel ensure site HSS training programs are implemented.
Compile project HSS Statistics on monthly basis & report to the country HSS Manager on or before 4th of every month.
Ensure the Principal Contractor are performing activities in accordance with the Indian regulation & contractual condition & industry best practices.
Coordinate and ensure the formation of a safety committee at the site and organise monthly safety committee meetings with equal participation from management staff and workers.
Develop, review and update HSS Plan, SOPs, HSS Management System manual as and when required.
Keep emergency response plan updated. Carryout the mock drills in suitable intervals for ensuring the inhouse preparedness & assessing the gaps if any.
Promoting all employees for reporting unsafe act, conditions, near misses & putting a efforts with concerned department for correcting the same on time.
Participate in regular meetings with ED for sharing information and learning.
Ensure adequate information, training, and alignment with other functional areas and towards suppliers.
Ensure implementation of IMS System & Process.
Additional activities, may include:
Inform the progress and compliance with the KPIs in a systematic way and in accordance with the requirements.
Ensure collaboration meetings with HSS and technical team on-site.
Ensure program for HSS Inspection/audits.
Ensure accidents and incidents are investigated and followed up in accordance with Statkraft requirements.
Actively seek and share lessons learned from the project with ED and within Statkraft.
Participate in the planning meetings for critical work with the project team members wherever required.
Review and update specific requirements for high-risk activities in the project and if necessary, establish and implement HSSE requirements in ITT processes for contracts in line with the contract strategy and procurement process.
Qualifications
BE. / B. Tech/ Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical + Advance diploma in Industrial Safety from reputed institute preferably from RLI/CLI. NEBOSH will be added advantage.
Minimum 10 years of HSS experience out of these, 5 years in coordination & Operation and Maintenance of Solar Power Projects.
Ability to work independently and capable of forming strong working relationships/partnerships with Site Leadership teams.
A thorough knowledge of applicable central & state regulations for health safety, environmental compliance.
Ability to lead a team of HSS Professionals.
Good level of oral and written English.
Hand on experience on implementation of IMS System.
Preparation of HSS Documentation.
Lead a Risk Assessment activity.
In addition, it is an advantage to have knowledge in
Permit to work systems.
Coordination in the monitoring and campaigns within HSS.
Pre-commissioning and commissioning in Projects.
