HSE Sr. Specialist, India & Bangladesh Location - Hyderabad Hybrid About the Role: The purpose of this role is to play a key role in the continued development and implementation of effective Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) site programs in line with local, regional, and global expectations. This role is to facilitate the implementation of the HSE Strategy by providing technical expertise and guidance to site management in all Novartis organizations in the APAC/ India / Mumbai region. Oversees HSE support, programs and initiatives in APAC/ India region as well as providing global support on various HSE topics and programs/Biosafety/Radiation Safety/Environment/Technical Safety / & Wastewater/Process Safety management that is applicable to commercial operations. Key Responsibilities: In this role at the site, the HSE Sr. Specialist provides technical support for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities and objectives as determined by the site\'s needs: Responsible for effective and efficient HSE Management Systems and supporting activities at site (e.g. Safety, Occupational health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, Water/waste water permits, Indoor Air Quality, Solid and hazardous waste management, site HSE Risk portfolio, general Risk Management activities, Hazard Communication, HSE training programs, incident management process and others) that are appropriate in consideration of the site\'s complexity, population, regulatory burden/environment, criticality and location Responsible for HSE site communications, including development of health, safety, and environment relevant topics to be shared with the site via digital channels, HSE SharePoint updates and review of the correctness of the topic periodically, and development of lesson-learned examples derived from incident reports to share with the site. Responsible to conduct risk assessments of work areas, with hazardous processes as needed and/or requested. Collaborate with associates to implement control measures to lessen and/or mitigate risks associated with tasks. Act as Change management champion and progress site sustainability initiatives i.e. Climate Change activities. Foster and participate in site sustainability team. Compliance with local regulatory permits and licenses. Support emergency management (including on-call responsibilities) for the site. Responsible that robust systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance (periodic audit & inspection) with all pertinent Novartis HSE Management System (HSE Handbook) and local Operating Procedures. Ensure associated HSE regulations, permits, statutes, local ordinances and/or other externally driven requirements are identified and complied in the site. Minimum Requirements Essential Requirements: 6+ yrs of experience in managing real estate, facilities services in large organization. Good experience in managing facility administration, implementation of policies, knowledge process management, vendor negotiation and management. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of various sectors such as facility operations, hard and soft services, technical services, asset and property management. Good experience in corporate real estate strategy and transaction, experience managing real estate portfolio with a focus on lease management, digital transformation and site strategies.
