Job Description

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree : A degree in Biology or a related field (such as life sciences, botany, zoology, genetics, etc.) is essential.
• Teaching Certification : A valid teaching certification or licensure to teach biology at the high school level (depending on the country's/state's regulations).
• Master's Degree (Optional) : A Master's in Education (M.Ed.), Biological Sciences, or a related field may be preferred by some schools for advanced expertise.
• Teaching Experience : Prior experience teaching biology at the secondary level can be an advantage. Student teaching experience is often acceptable for entry-level positions.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong Subject Knowledge : In-depth understanding of biology topics such as genetics, evolution, ecology, cell biology, human anatomy, and physiology.
• Teaching Skills : Proficiency in designing lesson plans, using different teaching methodologies (including lab work), and assessing student progress.
• Lab Experience : Hands-on experience with biology lab work, including conducting experiments, handling biological specimens, and maintaining lab safety.
• Technology Integration : Ability to integrate technology into the classroom (using multimedia, online simulations, virtual labs, etc.).
• Curriculum Knowledge : Familiarity with state/national standards, biology curricula, and standardized tests (e.g., AP Biology or IB Biology).

Soft Skills:

• Communication Skills : Excellent ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly and effectively to high school students.
• Patience and Adaptability : Capacity to work with students at different levels of understanding and adjust teaching styles as needed.
• Classroom Management : Skills to maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment.
• Organizational Skills : Managing lesson plans, grading, classroom materials, and lab equipment efficiently.
• Collaboration : Ability to work with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
