Serves as Human Resources representative for India. Primary point of contact with the Human Resources Business Partner Senior Manager for all human resources issues impacting the India-based staff.
Advises on HR policies and procedures, benefits packages, and employment contracts in India to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and alignment with country-specific norms.
Manages staff engagement and ensures the workplace culture in India reflects company\'s mission and values.
Supports the recruitment and on-boarding of India-based staff
Serves as a point of contact with service providers such as payroll firms, professional employment organizations, recruitment firms, and benefits providers.
Processes payroll for India-based staff
Monitors, trains on, and administers organizational and India-specific policies and procedures among staff to ensure compliance.
Cascades corporate information and coordinates corporate initiatives and processes with India-based staff, i.e., mandatory training requirements, performance evaluations, timesheet deadlines, etc.
Troubleshoots HR issues in collaboration with the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner.
Maintains HR hard copy files in a secure location.
Operations:
Serves as the business operations representative for the India Offices. Primary point of contact with the Senior Manager for Global Operations for all business operations issues impacting the India operations.
Supports and may lead activities to further establish operations in India, including coordinating registration process, liaising with landlords on office space, and serving as a point of contact with service providers such as the bank, law firm, and accounting firm.
Identifies new vendors and service providers as needed.
Troubleshoots operational issues in collaboration with other members of the Global Operations team.
Maintains Business Operations hard copy files in a secure location.
Ensures the India office has necessary supplies and equipment.
Other
Identifies opportunities for knowledge- and solution-sharing across the company and takes initiative to build staff and company capacity.
Contributes to development and continual improvement of standard operating procedures and information sharing tools.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree or relevant diploma preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in Human Resources in India; staff supervisory and mentorship experience preferred.
Proven human resources experience with broad HR expertise to include benefits management, compensation, talent management, performance management, employee relations, and payroll management with strong project management and organizational skills.
Experience in key areas of operations, including business operations, staff engagement, personnel management, and vendor procurement and management.
Strong knowledge and understanding of business operations and human resources norms and regulatory requirements in India.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of workplace laws, regulations, and employment trends in India.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
Experience working for a global company preferred.
Demonstrated experience following and creating standard practices and procedures, receiving general instructions on work progress, and making significant contribution to end results.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, lead effective meetings, and effectively deliver presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented startup work environment.

Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and word processing abilities.
Willingness to travel up to 4 weeks per year.

Work Conditions
Ability to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for at least 2 to 4 weeks a year
Regular attendance and availability during normal business hours are required.
