Job Description


Key Responsibilities:Employee Relations (ER):

  • Act as a key point of contact for employee-related issues, resolving concerns and disputes promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a positive work culture, driving employee engagement and ensuring open communication channels.
  • Conduct investigations into employee grievances and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Manage disciplinary issues in line with company policies, ensuring fair and consistent handling of employee concerns.
Compliance & Labor Law:
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulations, including statutory compliance related to contracts, leave policies, benefits, and more.
  • Regularly audit and ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, including the Industrial Disputes Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and others.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing labor laws and ensure policies are aligned with the latest legal requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary compliance documentation and reports, including audits and inspections.
Industrial Relations (IR):
  • Manage relationships with unions (if applicable) and act as the liaison between the management and the workforce.
  • Handle any IR-related issues, including disputes, strikes, or grievances, and work towards maintaining industrial harmony.
  • Support management in developing and implementing effective IR strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all IR-related regulations, including handling negotiations, settlements, and legal matters.
Talent Management & Development:
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure effective recruitment processes for various roles in Kolkata.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and career progression.
  • Support the implementation of employee training and development programs.
Performance Management:
  • Work with business leaders to develop and implement performance management systems and ensure regular feedback and reviews.
  • Provide coaching to managers on handling performance issues and supporting employee development.
HR Projects & Strategic Initiatives:
  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring that HR initiatives support organizational growth.
  • Lead and participate in HR projects such as workforce planning, talent retention strategies, and employee engagement surveys.
Reporting & Analytics:
  • Maintain HR metrics and provide data-driven insights to senior leadership on key HR performance indicators.
  • Prepare HR reports for management and stakeholders on various HR matters such as compliance, attrition, engagement, etc.
