Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene in assigned areas of the establishment, including guest rooms, public areas, and other assigned spaces. The Housekeeper ensures that all cleaning duties are performed efficiently and to a high standard, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Room Cleaning & Maintenance:
• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, restrooms, corridors, and other assigned areas.
• Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and wipe down surfaces.
• Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish toiletries.
• Ensure that furniture and fixtures are well-maintained.
• Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Public Area Cleaning:
• Clean and maintain common areas such as hallways, lounges, stairwells, elevators, and restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness in lobbies, entrances, and corridors.
• Laundry Services:
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, towels, and other laundry items.
• Sort laundry based on type and cleanliness.
• Ensure proper handling of linen inventory and storage.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor and maintain housekeeping supplies, including cleaning products, toiletries, and linens.
• Report low stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
• Health & Safety:
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals.
• Guest Services:
• Respond to guest requests for additional supplies or assistance.
• Report any guest concerns or complaints to the supervisor.
• Maintain a polite, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other housekeeping staff and departments.
• Assist with training new housekeeping staff, if applicable.
• Participate in team meetings and adhere to daily cleaning schedules.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is an advantage.
• Skills:
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina (standing, walking, bending, and lifting).
• Basic communication skills (verbal and written).
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in a variety of environments (rooms, hallways, public spaces).
Working Conditions:
• May require weekend, evening, and holiday shifts.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying indoor environments.
• The work may involve lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks.
