Hotel Receptionist
Job Overview:
A hotel receptionist is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in ensuring a positive guest experience. They are responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and addressing guest inquiries or complaints efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Services:
Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival.
Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
2. Check-In and Check-Out:
Manage the check-in process, including verifying guest details, providing room keys, and explaining hotel policies.
Handle check-outs by processing payments, issuing invoices, and collecting room keys.
3. Reservations Management:
Handle room bookings through phone, email, or online platforms.
Update and maintain accurate reservation records.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure room readiness.
4. Administrative Duties:
Maintain the front desk area, ensuring it is clean and organized.
Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
Record and report any maintenance issues or guest feedback.
5. Cash and Billing:
Process payments via cash, credit cards, or other methods.
Balance daily cash drawers and prepare financial reports.
6. Coordination and Communication:
Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet guest needs.
Relay guest special requests or preferences to the relevant teams.
Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in computer systems and hotel management software (e.g., Opera, PMS).
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
A friendly and professional demeanor.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
A degree or diploma in hospitality management (preferred).
Work Schedule:
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Experience:
Previous experience in customer service or a front desk role (preferred but not mandatory).
Familiarity with booking systems and payment processing.
