Job Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Hospital Receptionist to join our team. The Hospital Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals entering the facility. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a solid understanding of healthcare processes and confidentiality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience managing administrative tasks, answering inquiries, and providing general support to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the hospital's front desk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Interaction: Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
• Check-in/Check-out: Register patients, verify and update personal information, and ensure all necessary forms are completed. Process check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring that billing information is accurate.
• Appointment Scheduling: Assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, or confirming appointments with doctors or other healthcare providers.
• Phone Handling: Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, routing calls to the appropriate departments or staff. Address patient inquiries regarding appointment scheduling, services, or hospital policies.
• Administrative Support: Maintain patient records, prepare documents, and provide general office support, including data entry and filing.
• Coordination: Liaise with medical staff, technicians, and other hospital departments to ensure patient needs are communicated and addressed promptly.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Orderliness: Ensure the reception area is neat, welcoming, and stocked with necessary informational materials, brochures, and forms.
• Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
• Billing and Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying insurance details, explaining billing processes to patients, and handling billing inquiries.
• Emergency Response: Remain calm and efficient in the event of an emergency, directing patients or visitors to appropriate areas.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or healthcare management is a plus.
• Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and hospital management software.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures and patient care is a plus.
• Professional demeanor, compassionate, and empathetic toward patients and visitors.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a hospital or medical office setting.
• Familiarity with insurance processing and billing procedures.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
