A hospital maintenance worker, also known as a maintenance technician, is responsible for keeping a hospital facility in good working order:
• Cleaning : Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
• Maintenance : Replacing light bulbs, repairing broken locks, and fixing structural damage
• Repairing : Fixing broken or leaking plumbing, electrical wiring, and HVAC equipment
• Preventing problems : Applying preventative measures, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
• Reporting : Reporting any necessary repairs or potential hazards to the management
• Following protocols : Following established protocols for using chemical cleaners and power equipment
• Restocking : Restocking supplies in bathrooms and janitorial closets
• Responding : Responding promptly to requests for special cleaning or emergency cleanups
