  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with nutritionists and dieticians to plan menus that meet the dietary needs and restrictions of patients and staff. This includes considering special diets like diabetic, low sodium, gluten-free, etc.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and specific dietary requirements. Ensure that meals are nutritious, balanced, and appealing.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations to prevent contamination and ensure safe food handling practices. This is crucial in a hospital setting to prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • Stock Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and supplies, ensuring that necessary items are always available for meal preparation.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including scheduling, supervising kitchen staff, and assigning tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. Address any issues promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken.
