Qualification : Graduate in Mechanical or Dairy Engineering or equivalent
Prior Experience : 3 to 5 years' experience in a milk processing plant with a turnover of at least Rs.250 crores having milk powder plant and having dealt with MNC clients as customer for ingredient quality milk powders, fat and other dairy products
Objective of the Role and key responsibilities :
Initially, he will lead the installation and commissioning of new dairy plant of 5 LLPD capacity with state of the art setup. Smooth takeover of the complete plant with complete documentation, including but not limited to fully automatic milk reception and pre-processing section, Milk Powder Plant (both supplied by GEA), butter and ghee, paneer, curd, pouch milk, ice cream, all utilities like HT switchyard, PCC, boilers, refrigeration plant, WTP, ETP etc.
After plant is commissioned, he will take over complete responsibility for smooth running of the Milk processing, powder plant and product plants, all Utilities, other infrastructures and EHS
Roles & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Should have sound knowledge of Dry Section, Wet Section & General Maintenance, DCS, PLC, Microprocessor based instrument & field instrument and has exposure to MNC customer audits.
Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure the reliability and availability of plant equipment and machinery.
Define preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
Maintenance programme for Food Safety and mitigation of food contamination
Lead and manage the maintenance team, including Mechanical, Electrical, Automation and Instrumentation engineers, technicians, and support staff.
Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development to team members.
Oversee the management and maintenance of all plant assets, including production machinery, utilities, and infrastructure.
Monitor the performance of critical equipment and ensure timely repairs and replacements.
Implement reliability-centred maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability and reduce breakdowns.
Analyse data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement like MTBF, OEE etc.
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Procure necessary spare parts, tools, and equipment to support maintenance activities.
Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety among maintenance staff.
Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment procurement.
Negotiate contracts, review performance, and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
Generate reports on maintenance performance, including downtime analysis and cost-effectiveness.
