Histopathology Technician
Job Description
A histopathologist's job description includes:
• Examining tissue samples : Histopathologists examine tissue samples, such as biopsies, to detect changes that may be causing a patient's illness. They may specialize in specific organs, like the skin or liver.
• Diagnosing patients : Histopathologists make diagnoses based on their examination of tissue samples. They may use a microscope to examine slides and evaluate changes in tissue samples.
• Writing reports : Histopathologists write reports on patients for doctors.
• Collaborating with other professionals : Histopathologists work closely with other doctors, scientists, and healthcare staff to manage a patient's care. They may present and discuss patient cases with other professionals at multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Teaching and research : Histopathologists may have teaching and research responsibilities.
