Position Title: Histopathologist

Reports To: Head of Pathology Department

Location: Thrippunithura

Job Summary:

A Histopathologist is responsible for the microscopic examination of tissue samples to diagnose diseases and conditions. This role involves collaboration with other medical professionals to provide accurate diagnoses that inform patient treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pathology, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Microscopic Examination:
• Analyze tissue samples from biopsies, surgeries, and autopsies.
• Identify abnormalities and disease states, including cancer, infections, and inflammatory conditions.
• Diagnosis:
• Provide accurate and timely diagnoses based on microscopic examination.
• Interpret results and prepare detailed pathology reports.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with surgeons, oncologists, and other medical professionals to discuss findings and potential treatment options.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with established standards and regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
• Research and Education:
• Stay current with advancements in histopathology through continuous education and research.
• Mentor and train medical students, residents, and laboratory staff.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all examinations and findings.
• Ensure documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Pathology.
• Completion of a residency program in Pathology.
• Board certification in Pathology (or eligibility for certification).
• Experience:
• Previous experience in histopathology is preferred.
• Experience in specialized areas such as oncologic pathology, dermatopathology, or neuropathology is a plus.
• Skills:
• Proficient in the use of microscopes and other diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• To know grossing,Processing,Embedding,Cutting,Staining and Submission
• Cytopathology Techniques
• Special Stains

Working Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?21,000.00 per month

• Day shift
