Duties


Working in the Facility Management section of the U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Maintenance Worker carries out maintenance and repair work to all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties.





Qualifications and Evaluations


Requirements:


EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial or industrial HVAC systems is required. (Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail.)




Key Requirements:


• Completion of secondary school is required. (See Education requirements)
• Minimum three (3) years related work experience (See Experience section)
• English, Hindi and Marathi language is required. (See language section)

Education Requirements:


Completion of secondary school is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the HVAC field is required.

Evaluations:


LANGUAGE: Limited knowledge (speaking, reading and writing) of English is required. Good working knowledge (speaking, reading and writing) in Hindi/Marathi is required. (This may be tested). Please specify in your application your level of proficiency in each language listed on the vacancy announcement, using the following levels:

Level 1 (Basic): Examples: Basic greetings, phrases, numbers and signs.

Level 2 (Limited): Examples: Directions, simple questions.

SKILLS: A valid driver's license is required. ( Please attach a copy of valid Indian driving license with the application along with all the mandatory/required documents. U.S. Government regulations require all Chauffeurs or Incidental drivers for official vehicles to be 25 years of age or older. We will not consider candidates below 25 years of age.)

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.



For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.



The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
