Key Responsibilities:
• Community Engagement and Awareness:
• Conduct door-to-door visits, community meetings, and public awareness sessions to educate people about TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment options.
• Promote TB screening, diagnosis, and treatment adherence within target communities.
• Develop and distribute educational materials (pamphlets, posters, etc.) tailored to local cultural and language needs.
• Case Detection and Referral:
• Identify potential TB cases within the community and facilitate their referral to health facilities for diagnosis.
• Coordinate with health facilities and local leaders to ensure follow-up and treatment compliance for TB patients.
• Support contact tracing and encourage household screening when cases are identified.
• Community Mobilization:
• Organize campaigns, events, and health camps to promote TB-related services.
• Advocate for community ownership and participation in TB prevention and care initiatives.
• Data Collection and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of community visits, awareness sessions, and identified cases.
• Collect and report data on TB-related activities, including referrals and follow-ups.
• Provide periodic reports to supervisors on activities, challenges, and successes.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work in close coordination with the field team, health workers, and community-based organizations to implement project activities effectively.
• Participate in capacity-building training programs and workshops.
• Provide feedback to the project team to improve intervention strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in community mobilization, health promotion, or TB control programs is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.
• Basic knowledge of TB prevention and treatment concepts.
• Proficiency in local languages and knowledge of the cultural dynamics of the area.
• Ability to travel extensively within project areas.
