Job Role: Plant Warehouse Operations Head Manage plant warehousing & subcontracting function, Ensure proper material handling and providing at Plant Maintain accuracy of physical & logical stocks and maintain inventory control. Ensure effective customer order management and on time delivery of materials. Manage and develop people in the warehousing & subcontracting function by training, developing and mentoring performance. Budgeting Prepare budget for local transportation and packing material based on volume requirements. Also plan for international transportation including air and sea freight. Closely monitor expenses and maintain within budget limitation Warehouse Management Establish systems, train the employees and contract operators on implementing efficient system; and review with warehouse team on a weekly basis. Establish and maintain FIFO system and review periodically. Monitor House Keeping in the warehouse and work towards improving the same. Review 5 S audits and recommend and implement corrective action. Establish safety systems in the warehouse and ensure safe practices. Inventory Management and Control Prepare the daily cycle count schedule and ensure execution of the same on a daily basis to establish stock accuracy. Perform periodical inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy and implementation of cycle count schedule. Incase of discrepancies in system stock and physical stock, analyze the causes and take corrective action. Fix safety stocks for semi finished goods and finished goods and ensure availability as per requirements. Freight Management. Identify efficient and effective transporters agents. Establish agreements with them and use them effectively to transport materials. Work on freight cost reduction clubbing consignments in such a way that the cost is reduced. Choose transporters depending on there quality and cost of service. Depending on requirement of materials choose effective mode of transportation - either through air or sea and control freight cost. Sub Contractor Management Audit sub contractor premises on a monthly basis to ensure proper warehousing and stock accuracy. Validate the reconciliation report of physical Vs System stock at subcontractor premises. Review the subcontractor\'s performance on quality and delivery on a monthly basis and suggest corrective actions. Prepare dashboards and forward the same to manager materials Leadership - Systems / Process development Design and establish suitable systems processes appropriate to functional and organizational requirements. Set clear directions to team members in effectively executing the systems / processes. Ensure corrective / preventive action and drive continual improvements. Leadership - People Development Set Objectives and KPI to all direct reportees in line with the company and Plant objectives. Continuously monitor and mentor direct reportees to achieve the set targets. Conduct Half yearly and Annual appraisals. Identify and Promote talent. Identify training needs and in coordination with Human resources ensure timely execution of the training programs. Conduct individual development program for long term career planning and individual development. Be a role model to reportees, demonstrate leadership, commitment and walk the talk. The Job requires expert skills in inventory management and warehousing of large number of materials; The position holder would be required to handle a variety of people including executives, staff and contract workmen and train them to execute the warehousing activities effectively. Qualifications - External Education: Graduate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Management will be preferred Job Related Experience: Min 12 - 17 years of experience in Logistics and warehouse management in engineering / automobile industry
