REC Energy works in close cooperation with other Ramboll offices located in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, UK, Middle East, USA and Asia Pacific.The Head of Department (HOD) provides overall leadership and direction to the Structures department. HOD must have international mindset and exposure in managing large & complex projects. Responsible for managing teams dedicated to Nordic, USA & UK countries. Plays a critical role in providing the strategic direction, management, and performance of Structures department within the Energy Sector.   • Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the department's scope and develop proactive strategies to address them.
People leadership
  • Provide visible, tangible leadership based on the Ramboll Values and the Ramboll Leadership Profile.
  • Lead, manage, and oversee the Structures department's operations.
  • Hire, mentor, train, and evaluate departmental staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Operational and Profitable performance
  • Establish performance metrics, goals, and targets for the department and monitor progress towards achieving them.
  • Optimize resources, ensuring efficient allocation and management of staff, materials, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations with the technical heads, provide constructive feedback, and help recognize outstanding performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on the department's progress and projects to executive management and board members.
Financial Management
  • Ensure that the department heads are clearly developing and managing the departmental budget, effective allocation of resources to support departmental initiatives and activities.
Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and high customer satisfaction.
Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the department's operations, processes, and projects along with the technical heads.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and controls to minimize the impact of risks on departmental objectives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department, encouraging staff to explore new ideas, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a reputed University. Master's degree or / MBA is preferred. Membership/ Chartership of an appropriately recognized professional institution will be highly desirable.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in delivering large multinational projects with a focus on quality and delivery. Capable of managing large teams.
  • Expert-level engineer, specialist who is recognised both within and outside the organisation as thought leader in an area of expertise, a master in Structural discipline as well as having a thorough understanding of related disciplines.
  • Proven track record in Multinational consulting companies, particularly in the Energy sector.
  • In-depth technical expertise and a proactive approach to identifying and leveraging emerging technologies for operational improvements.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standard.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of Decarbonization of structures and a passion for Sustainable Development practices are desirable.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximizes efficiency, and meets challenging work goals.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determined to manage priorities.
  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values, business integrity and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, encompassing both written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) & Adobe Acrobat
  • Provide technical leadership and oversee all projects from conception to completion.
  • Experience in structural design, engineering & analysis of Energy sectors i.e. working on greenfield, brownfield and specialized services within offshore structures & substation; Offshore Foundation, Jackets and Tops side of wind energy area
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards such as Eurocodes with National Annex codes.
  • Knowledge of relevant software tools STAAD Pro, Autodesk Revit, A BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks required & TEKLA Structures ETABS, MathCAD preferred.
  • Exposure to Decarbonization in Energy Structures. Promote Ramboll sustainability strategy.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering, design, and construction of Energy structures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors, negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms.
  • Spearheading the Bid and Tender on specific project opportunities.
  • Exposure in project performance and variation management
  • Responsible for effective Implementation and utilization of quality tools to minimize the number of quality errors and client complaints
  • Ensure that Ramboll Code of Conduct is followed in all situations
