Responsible for managing teams dedicated to the Nordic countries & UK. Plays a critical role in providing the strategic direction, management, and performance of the department. Must work very closely with Director Buildings and collaborate with overseas counterparts, understand the dynamics of each geography/market and build strong relationship to drive the growth of global workshare. Join our REC team as our new Head of Department - Structures - Buildings Market and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleAs our new Head of Department - Structures - Buildings Market, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC)...Your key responsibilities will be:Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the organization\'s mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in the business and develop proactive strategies to address them.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determined to manage priorities.
People leadership
  • Provide visible, tangible leadership based on the Ramboll Values and the Ramboll Leadership Profile.
  • Hire, mentor, train, and evaluate departmental staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Must possess and maintain exceptional ethics as well as uphold company values, business integrity and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
Operational and Profitable performance
  • Establish performance metrics, goals/targets for the department and monitor progress in achieving them.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations with the team leads, provide constructive feedback, and promote performance culture.
  • Prepare and present reports on the department\'s progress and projects to executive management, board members and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with domestic market teams/business units with one Ramboll spirit.
Financial Management
  • Ensure that the team leads are clearly developing and managing the departmental budget, effective utilisation of resources to support departmental initiatives and activities.
  • Monitor expenditure, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance to budgets, financial policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and achieve high customer satisfaction.
Risk Management
  • Identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities within the department\'s operations, processes, and projects with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and controls to minimize the impact of risks on departmental objectives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department, encouraging staff to explore new ideas, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify new services/disciplines which have the potential for increasing the collaboration with respective stakeholders
Performance Indicators and Targets
  • Billing ratio/resource utilization and workshare hours
  • Project performance with respect to budgets
  • Project delivery according to internal business processes and guidelines.
  • Project satisfaction score
  • Costs at department level
  • Employee Satisfaction & Engagement Survey Score & Attrition control
Your new teamYou will be part of REC, Ramboll Engineering Centre provides engineering services to the Ramboll Group worldwide mainly in Buildings, Transport & Water sectors. REC works in close cooperation with other Ramboll offices located in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, UK, Middle East, and Asia Pacific.This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel working for structures in UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual team mates working on common projects, prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range in type of projects vary from high rise structures, to precast, to post tensioning etc., for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for.   • Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed University. Master\'s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred. Membership/ Chartership of an appropriately recognized professional institution will be highly desirable.
  • Minimum 15-25 years of relevant experience in delivering large multidisciplinary Structures projects with focus on quality, budgets, and timely delivery. Proven track record of managing large & diverse project teams in a multinational consulting company involved in Global workshare. \xc2\xb7
  • Provide technical leadership and oversee all projects from concept to completion. Experience in structural analysis & design of commercial, residential, educational, airports and industrial buildings.
  • Exposure to Engineering & BIM Tools is essential.
  • Extensive working experience with international codes of practice and standard. Exposure Indian & Eurocodes with national annexes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Structural Steel, Concrete, Precast, and Timber Design with constructability aspects.
  • Knowledge of Decarbonization of structures and a passion for Sustainable Development practices are desirable.
  • Develop, implement best practices/standards and procedures for the engineering design.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors, negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms.
  • Lead the Bid and Tender services on specific project opportunities.
QualificationsBachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed University. Master\'s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred. Membership/ Chartership of an appropriately recognized professional institution will be highly desirable.Additional InformationWhat we can offer you
