Job Description


  • managing a delinquency free Loan portfolio in a cost optimal manner
  • work closely with multiple departments, such as Business Development, Analytics, Growth & Sales, Risk, Product, Marketing, and External Lending partners
  • Additionally, this position will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance to senior management regarding potential areas of business expansion, and overall portfolio management strategy
  • Managing end to end collections & portfolio management.
  • Responsible for the development, monitoring and implementation of Portfolio Management and Loans Collections strategies to optimize the recovery process and reduce delinquency rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including credit, risk, and operations
  • Setting up fraud management and operations practices to reduce delinquency ratios.
  • Own the day-day relationship with Credit Operations to execute strategies and enable delivery of portfolio Collections performance in line with agreed business plan and service level agreements.
  • Building & managing a robust collection team and collections infra.
  • Audit, review & document Collections policies and procedures, strategies & practices. Recommending enhancements and implementing best practices.
  • Build the necessary analytic models to provide feedback to the underwriting team on fine tuning their underwriting efforts so as to avoid on boarding risky profiles. Utilize advanced analytics techniques to analyze collection data, identify patterns, and extract actionable insights. Ensure quantitative and qualitative analysis on loans accounts. Utilize data analysis and insights to drive decision-making and inform strategic initiatives like creating segmentation in the portfolio based on the risk attached to the clients for efficient handling.
  • Set up sound Collections processes while adhering to the Fair Practices Code. Comply to existing process controls.
  • Develop and maintain effective management information systems (MIS) for the collections department, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key metrics with historical data, industry trends, and business objectives. Monitor collection performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Monitoring portfolio for increasing delinquency patterns based on the portfolio triggers, effectively monitor and review delinquent accounts.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities that enhance the collectability of / financial return upon impaired assets by improving the decision tools, treatments and strategies used within Loans Collections processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to collection teams, offering training and coaching to enhance their performance and adherence to collection strategies.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to leverage automation and data analytics tools to improve collections processes and efficiency.
  • Monitor external collection agency performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and performance expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in collections strategies and technology solutions.

  • Master\'s/ Bachelor\'s degree.
  • Proven experience in Collections Strategy creation & implementation or in a similar role, within the financial services industry. Minimum 10 years of Collection and Portfolio Management experience. Strong understanding of digital lending marketplace dynamics and trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of collection processes, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong expertise in collections strategies, including projections, forecasting, analytics, and MIS management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI) to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Excellent Communication, Negotiation, Team Management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze, understand root cause, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally and influence internal & external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
