About the role: To lead all Business Planning & Analysis (BPA) activities within a country or unit (typically very large cost budget), a region or globally, depending on the division size, providing insightful and valuable analysis and decision support to the business leadership. Key Responsibilities: . Manage the execution of regional / global strategies for own part of the organization. Deliver core management reporting and financial planning processes to ensure the effective and timely delivery of insightful, recurring or ad-hoc financial information. . Own the development of detailed budget and financial forecasts for use in Global and Regional, country, Business Franchise (BF), and Business Unit (BU) planning. Design and maintain early warning systems for financial tracking, ensuring accurate advance warning for all financial results. Proactively drive performance and carry out valuable analyses on financial data: Sales trends, Functional Expenses, Other Income and Expenses, Impairment review, Management Cash Flow, Capital Investments, life time costs for projects, NPV etc. . Support the organization\'s leadership team with financial analysis (including Risks & Opportunities analysis), cost analysis and control and drive corrective actions. Conduct valuable analyses, e.g. Resource allocation, profitability analyses, benchmarking to recommend short -and long-term targets and improvement areas. . Oversee the management and development of teams of experienced BPA professionals, manage the accurate and timely implementation of BPA processes and policies and ensure adherence thereof, & lead or initiate key BPA projects. . Provide leadership in preparing business cases, participating and value adding in key negotiations for large size investments and programs/projects for the domain/sub domains -Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt. Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable) Business Partnering. Partners effectively on different dimensions (local and global, across divisions as well as Senior Management including DDIT LT, Novartis Operations LT and Novartis FLT . Develop and implement the strategic financial plan in close collaboration with global business leaders and divisions -Provides cost transparency and ensure good understanding of key cost drivers Evaluates risks & opportunities, proactively communicates and makes recommendations for mitigation. . Follows up and ensures issues are addressed -Ensures business partners understand the financial processes and follow internal guidelines/SOPs -Generates ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions Planning (Budget, LF, StratPlan) & Reporting. Leads the planning process from StratPlan to Budget/LF for the DDIT function . Leads the timely, accurate and significant financial management reporting on operational cost and DDIT project spend that serve for the basis of performance management and decision making -Challenges business requirements and validate with equivalent benchmarks Productivity and KPI Tracking/Benchmarking . Supports productivity and benchmarking activities and ensures accurate and complete reporting of cost savings and productivity opportunities at all levels of the organisation Accounting / Compliance. Ensures good accounting and practices in line with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM). Applies standard accounting concepts and techniques. Close collaboration Diversity & Inclusion / EEO Minimum Requirements Essential Requirements: . University Degree (Master or higher) in Finance & Accounting or similar business degree/MBA desirable . Chartered Accountant or similar -Outstanding ability to collaborate across matrix organization . +12 years of finance experience within pharmaceutical/consumer goods industry at country and HQ levels Desirable Requirements: . Relevant financial experience in various areas (Controlling/BPA, Reporting, Audit). Excellent analytical skills and ability to foster a constructive, yet challenging dialogue .
