Job Description

• Managing the kitchenA sous chef is the head chef's right-hand person, and is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring that meals are prepared properly. This includes assigning duties to kitchen staff, planning schedules, and overseeing payroll.
• Supporting the head chefA sous chef can represent the head chef when they're not around, and can help with menu design and ingredient selection.
• Ensuring qualityA sous chef is responsible for maintaining quality standards, including consistency and presentation. They may also perform pre-shift line checks to ensure the quality of all items.
• Training and hiringA sous chef may train new staff members and help hire and select new staff.
• Safety and sanitationA sous chef is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen is clean and safe, and that kitchen staff adhere to sanitation and safety guidelines.
• InventoryA sous chef may track and order inventory, and ensure that the kitchen has the tools and supplies it needs.
• CommunicationA sous chef needs to be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other staff, and with managers and chefs.
• CreativityA sous chef may be called upon to come up with creative concepts for the restaurant.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
