Primary Responsibilities
A. User Acquisition
- Driving month on month traffic growth on website through channels like search, google news, social media, paid marketing & partnerships with content aggregators
- Create & execute PR & Distribution strategies and implement them with help of the team
- Continuously build new channels for new user acquisitions using platforms like Quora, Reddit, Telegram etc.
- Work with the product team to optimize the website for user experience metrics like load time, average time on page and other user engagement metrics
- Work with editorial team to share insights on content performance and ensure new content production with the help of editorial team
- Work with editorial team to identify content opportunities and optimize existing content performance
B. User Activation
- Converting unknown visitors to known users
- Grow newsletters audience along with continuous optimisation of newsletter levers, continuous feedback to the editorial team and new newsletter initiatives
- Create and manage lead magnets on website like giveaways, reports, referral programs etc
- Plan, initiate & grow in activation channels like Whatsapp, Slack Communities, Telegram etc
- Work with editorial team to create and launch new newsletters and content properties for growth in activation
- Maintain, monitor and report performance of the key metrics and campaigns to the respective stakeholders
C. User Engagement & Retention
- Drive month on month growth in onsite user engagement metrics (pages/session, time on site etc.)
- Drive month on month growth in user retention(primarily sessions/user) on the website by improving community engagement such as Newsletters, Telegram, Whatsapp and through other channels like paid marketing, social media etc.
- Maintain, monitor and report performance of the key metrics and campaigns to the respective stakeholders
D. Operations & Reporting
- Create reports and insightful dashboards for marketing & editorial teams for daily, weekly, monthly reporting
- Create interactive dashboards for key stakeholders for review of marketing journeys, content performance & audience engagement
- Create, maintain & run the key processes for CRM, virtual events, customer success, telesales, product & content feedback, keeping all key stakeholders in loop
- Work closely with the marketing and editorial teams to drive growth, creative experiment and audience engagement
Professional Traits
A. Mandatory Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in growth & content marketing
- Preferably from modern digital media or content-first digital companies
- Has a strong understanding of content/content marketing and fluent in communications
- Should have strong experience in Growth Marketing, Content Marketing, CRM, Analytics
- Has demonstrated strong experience in driving growth and scaling engagement/conversion at a B2C company
B. Preferable Skills:
- Managed a team of up to 6 people in the past
- Strong operational, analytical background, should be tech savvy and able to think from first-principles
- Experience in Running Multivariate Experiments, User Research, Funnel Optimisation & Marketing Automation
