Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLETo manage end-to-end execution of technology strategy for hydrocarbon products by implementing existing & new technology projects, troubleshooting plant operation issues on time, identifying opportunities and gap to optimize operations, improve productivity, yield, and product quality as per RIL\'s overall goals & objectivesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES-Manage end-to-end execution of Product technology support roadmap & business plan-Provide input on Products technology vertical\'s cost and budgeting related to key projects-Oversee deployment of own vertical\'s budget and ensure utilization and minimum variance in target v/s actual-Support implementation of new initiatives / projects and set operational plans for own discipline that meet the future demand-Implement policies, processes and procedures covering all areas of product technology vertical for assigned projects-Drive activities to improve systems and procedures of own vertical, development of processes and tools to ensure effective and efficient operations-Facilitating consistent application of best practice technology through standardized flow sheets and equipment design across all projects and studies-Keep abreast with emerging industry trends, best practices, technology advancements and regulatory developments in the product manufacturing technology domain-Drive robust technical standards, systems and processes for plant production technology, optimize operations, catalyst performance, operating conditions, cycle time, of products and units-Engage with product process technology licensors for new technology implementation, perform due diligence and validate efficacy of results and outputs-Support lifecycle management of plant assets with inputs on major upgrade, condition assessment, maintenance planning and forecasting. Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans for mitigation of risks and ensure minimal impact on plant production outcomes-Ensure development of integrated simulation model for all plants, perform scenario based testing & studies in diverse state of changing plant parameters-Explore and implement new ways to automate systems, process and technologies as per plan.-Conduct technology workshops for staff at sites, develop & deliver technical presentations to ensure employees are updated with required information & skillset-Collaborate closely with other technology verticals, scientists, and engineers to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure alignment across projects and initiatives-Lead troubleshooting production/process/technology issues on time and share recommendations. Oversee on-site technical support as required (problems solving, technology deployment activities, improvement study, turnarounds, energy optimization, etc.)-Analyze and evaluate deviations, production metrics and plant performance data to inform continuous improvement efforts, check for compliance with technology processes, procedures, standards and identify areas for improving product technology, yield and product quality-Issue quarterly product performance benchmarking reports and provide recommendations for improvement. Monitor and support facilities in implementing recommendations and closing capability gaps-Assist sites with best case process optimization studies as well as with scoping / screening / development of improvement projects-Contribute to technological innovation to reduce costs and workflows and ensure the feasibility and reproducibility of processes. Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce costsKNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIESEducation Qualifications - Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Premium Institutes OnlyExperience 15+ years of relevant experience in process technology, chemical engineering, in Refining or Petrochemical IndustryFUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES- Knowledge of product technology & advancement- Knowledge of latest tools & simulation studies- Knowledge of new products- Knowledge of application of science & engineering principles
