The Grade 1 & 2 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for teaching young students foundational skills across subjects, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting their emotional and social development. The teacher will also coordinate with parents, fellow teachers, and school administration to ensure the holistic growth of the students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instructional Duties:
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
• Implement a structured curriculum aligned with the school's standards.
• Use a variety of teaching methods (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) to address diverse learning needs.
• Classroom Management:
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
• Establish classroom routines and rules that promote respect, responsibility, and cooperation.
• Manage student behavior and promote self-regulation, fostering a conducive learning environment.
• Student Assessment:
• Assess student progress through observations, quizzes, tests, and assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Use assessments to identify learning gaps and tailor instruction to meet individual needs.
• Social and Emotional Development:
• Promote the emotional and social development of students, encouraging positive relationships and self-confidence.
• Act as a mentor and guide, helping students develop skills like teamwork, empathy, and conflict resolution.
• Foster students' independence and self-discipline.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Regularly communicate with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and the school administration to ensure consistent and coordinated teaching strategies.
• Curriculum & Resource Development:
• Create lesson plans and classroom activities that are interactive, creative, and aligned with the learning goals.
• Use technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences.
• Adapt teaching materials to address students' individual learning styles and abilities.
• Classroom Environment:
• Design a classroom environment that is inviting and stimulating, with displays of student work and educational materials.
• Ensure that the classroom is organized and equipped with necessary supplies and teaching aids.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in professional development workshops, meetings, and trainings.
• Stay updated on new teaching methodologies and educational trends.
